# Create the Google Project

It will show the tasks you need to perform, and information it needs to create a working project on GCP and connect it to the Nest SDM App.

### Create the GCP Project

Look for <mark style="background-color:blue;">**CREATE PROJECT**</mark> for creation of a new project.

Give your project a **Project name**. You can also edit the **Project ID**, but it is better to leave this to the system. click <mark style="background-color:blue;">**CREATE**</mark>

Copy the <mark style="background-color:blue;">**Project ID**</mark> onto your clipboard. NOT the project name, nor the project number, but the <mark style="background-color:blue;">**Project ID**</mark>. This mistake is easily made.

Switch back to the Homey Nest SDM app, paste the Project ID into the Google Cloud Project <mark style="background-color:blue;">PROJECT ID</mark> field.
